Stoker

Some weeks ago, the partner and I went to the cinema with no final decision on what movie to watch. I think it was the week the JLC-Sarah G movie and Beautiful Creatures were shown. Then there's this movie I wasn't familiar with starring Nicole Kidman and Mia Wasiwowska that sounded very interesting based on the synopsis. I didn't know who the director was (I can feel movie buffs judging me lol) so I didn't know what to expect.

Well, as it turned out, I liked it. Really liked it. Never mind that the story was a little bit predictable but man, it was such an eye-candy. I loved the cinematography and styling, made me want to climb trees again...in oxfords.

Then, I "grow-up" and buy proper heels.

Breaking In

Well, I now have a tiny bit of confidence to post head-to-toe photos of myself after losing at least 10 lbs. of excess weight so far.

I had my hair cut yesterday because, despite my desire of having mermaid hair, I just couldn't bear the summer heat and the fuss of keeping my hair long. Sure, I could tie it in a bun (I always did) but I just gave up on the idea, I guess. Heat sometimes precipitates desires, I tell you.

Also yesterday: Post-Iron Man 3 (so much lolz), the boyfriend bought me a new pair of running shoes. So generous, amirite. We got it with a discount because Runnr has on-going promo where you can get a pair for a Php1,000 discount if you donate an old (still in wearable condition) singlet. I chose Brooks Pure Grit because it's designed for trails and I want to learn to tackle them.

I broke in the shoes earlier today for grocery duties. Hee.

For the LOLz: Runway Outfits for Everyday Living, Summer Edition

In fashion timeline, posting of the following photos is so yesterday. But it is summer in the Philippines (well, we're perennial state of summer except when the skies become merciful and pour) and they are from SS 2013 collections, so I guess I'm being timely in a sense, right?

In a summer fantasy in my head, I wear:

This Balenciaga printed cropped top but with shorts of the same fabric for when I'm working.

This dyed Band of Outsiders gradient blue dress and sandals for daily wear (read: pambahay).

This entire look from Dries Van Noten for bank errands and grocery shopping.

This entire Haider Ackermann look for a potential evening affair. I'll put on a blazer though as I am yet to achieve toned arms and eradicate back fat, lol. I think I've said this before and I'm saying this again: I've got warm fuzzies for Haider Ackermann's aesthetic.

This Maison Martin Margiela long dress for whenever I reflect on my #donyaproblems.

This Mary Katrantzou print dress for an eat-all-you-can lunch at Imperial Palace, Cabalen, or wherever the biggest buffet extravaganza is. Perfect to hide gluttonous tummies, no? I'm really digging Mary Katrantzou's print mega-mind.

This Y-3 (Yohji x Adidas) outfit for jogging.

This Yohji Yamamoto bad-assery for playing with the dog. Kal-el will enjoy grabbing those fringes.
